Hello, my name is Art Thomas, and I have Acquired Ataxia, which has accelerated my unknown hereditary Ataxia.
Ataxia is a rare condition that primarily affects coordination, balance, and speech due to damage to the cerebellum and nervous system. Despite the challenges encountered, individuals with Ataxia or other neurological disorders demonstrate extraordinary courage and determination as they strive to lead fulfilling lives.
The cerebellum, often called the “little brain,” is responsible for coordinating and controlling motor functions. This region of the brain was severely affected by the neurological condition known as Ataxia.
